Birkdale Swim Squad
Operating out of Birkdale State school Pool under the leadership of coaches Rob and Pedro.
Our coaching teams mission is to give swimmers a little more in the pool supporting those coming out of Learn to swim, competing at Breakers or wanting to go a little further. And of course a little something for mum and dad in the evenings too.
The local swim club Birkdale Breakers offers a great experience to extend your swimming, ask our coaches for more information.
We hope to see you by the pool.
There is no need for an assessment for the Parent & Child Classes as these classes are broken into age-group progressions.
Parents are encouraged (and asked) to wear a rashie or a loose t-shirt in the water to give your child something to grab. Otherwise you may find you will lose some chest hair or have your bikini straps undone by accident!

Current Squads offered at Birkdale included
Yellow
Need to be able to swim 25m in at least one stroke. Building stronger swimming skills and technique in all 4 strokes
Blue
Able to do a minimum 25 m of all 4 strokes (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and freestyle) and also able to swim 200m freestyle without stopping.
Orange
Squads for adults and older teens (by invitation)

Coaching Fees

$20 casually per session (cash or card)
Option #2
upfront fee*:
Weekly or sessional rate
$50 in advance
$15 per session (min $15/wk) calculated & charged each F/N based on sessions done in the previous F/N
Option #3
upfront fee*:
Weekly or sessional rate
$70 in advance
$35 for unlimited
sessions charged each F/N in advance
* upfront fees cover the first 2 weeks in advance
Our Successes (some of)
Success doesn't happen overnight and whilst the greatest indicators for success for our coaching team happen on weekly basis as character develops and positive choices are made we still like to remember some of the BIG MOMENT success our coaching team has helped make happen.
